(Dallas, Texas) – Recognition continues to be extended to Capital Title of Texas, the latest honor being listed as one of SMU’s 2013 Dallas 100™ Entrepreneur Award winners.  The Plano-based independently owned title company continues to be honored for its continued success and rapid growth despite a challenging economy.

Co-founded by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship in 1990, the Dallas 100™ Awards is an annual event that identifies and honors the 100 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area. Qualifying criteria for the Dallas 100™ includes being an independent, privately held corporation, proprietorship or partnership (not subsidiaries or divisions of a parent company), obtain at least 3 years history and not be a non-profit organization, be headquartered in the Dallas Metroplex area, have sales of more than $500,000, but less than $75 million in fiscal year 2010, hold a three-year sales history which reflects growth during the three-year sales period, and, as well as have a credit report and character satisfactory to the Dallas 100™.

“The economy relies on entrepreneurs to rejuvenate our economic woes,” said Jerry White, event co-founder and director of the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU Cox School of Business. “Entrepreneurs are fundamental change agents who derive innovation, build companies, create jobs and build the wealth of the nation. In many ways, they are unsung economic heroes.”

Since 2006, Capital Title has continued to be the largest independently owned title company in Texas, expanding its services throughout the state of Texas offering over 45 office locations throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. Capital Title’s revenues increased 41% from $21.3 million to $30.1 million from 2009 to 2012, despite some of the toughest economic times in decades. In fact, Capital Title has rapidly expanded business, opening several new office locations across the state of Texas within the last year in order to continue to meet the growing demand for top-quality service in the residential and commercial title industry.

Capital Title is no stranger to the Dallas 100™ Awards, having won spots on the prestigious list in 2007 and 2008. In 2013 alone, other honors extended to Capital Title include the Inc. 5000 2013 Fastest Growing Companies and Baylor University’s 2013 Family Business of the Year.

All winners of the 2013 Dallas 100™ are invited to a private reception in their honor on October 9, 2013 at the James M. Collins Executive Education Center to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Dallas 100 awards.  An awards ceremony to honor the 2013 winners will be held November 14, 2013 at the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at the SMU Cox School of Business.
